The Varsity Quiz team defeated Uniontown 40-31 for the County Championship and Waynesburg by the score of 52-42 for the Overall League championship. Casey Karwatske led the way by scoring 50 points and Drew Nicklow scored 48 points during the 5-match tournament held at Penn State Fayette Campus. The Varsity Quiz Team will represent the Tri-County League at Regionals held at the end of March at Penn West California Campus. The Junior Varsity Quiz team defeated Albert Gallatin 26-19 for the County Championship and Waynesburg by the score of 38-23 for the Overall League Championship. Toby Downs led the way by scoring 40 points and Elijah McCourt scored 38 points during the 6-match tournament held at Penn State Fayette Campus. There are no regional playoff for JV teams.
For the first time, The Varsity Quiz Team was invited and competed in the Carnegie Cup Invitational Tournament held at Geneva College on March 2. This was an all-day event with our 7-member team going 6-3 on the day. Casey Karwatske earned an individual points medal by finishing 6th out of 94 participants with a score of 525 points. Drew Nicklow finished 13 out of the 94 participants with a score of 250 points. We were very proud to say that they placed #4 out of 19 teams with a score of 2040 points.
