Dear LHSD Students, Parents, Guardians, and Staff:
In an effort to provide clarity and transparency to a disturbing matter, please be aware that during the evening hours of 9/15/24 our School District received a possible threat. The threat was not specific and entailed multiple users, similar to those recently experienced in West Virginia, and the Pittsburgh area school districts last week. To that end, the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) were notified and initiated an active investigation. The investigation is ongoing. As a precaution, our school district buildings will have an added presence of PSP authority moving into the near future.
This incident remains under investigation by the authorities. We thank the students and parents who brought this matter to us in a timely manner, and PSP for the immediate, deliberate, and quick response to this situation; Additionally, throughout the investigative process, we have operated in the best interest of students and staff. We will continue to do everything possible to establish and maintain a safe learning environment for all students, staff, and the community. Thank you for your support and patience.
