LHSD to remain in remote learning thru holidays

December 4, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Home/School Remote Teaching

12/14/2020-12/22/2020

In an effort to establish and maintain the health, safety, and welfare of students and staff, effective 12/14/2020 until 12/22/2020, the LHSD will temporarily continue with the current remote model of instruction for students. COVID-19 cases countywide continue to climb; as such, the remote model of instruction will continue. It is our sincere hope and desire to reopen for face-to-face learning on 1/4/2021; however, please continue to check our website (www.lhsd.org) for updates.

As mentioned in earlier correspondence, coursework in the remote environment will be as aligned as we can make it with the in-person model you have become familiar with. However, course offerings and the instructional day will not be an identical match. Our teachers are dedicated and driven to assist every student to succeed and will continue that effort moving forward. We will give our best effort and commitment to elevate every student educationally through these trying times. We appreciate your patience. Please be safe.

In closing, we are keenly aware of the continued hardship the remote learning protocol has become for our students and families. We are striving to return to in-person instruction as soon as possible.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jesse T. Wallace, III

Superintendent
