LHHS Welcomes Class of 2028: Move-Up Day 2024

Welcome to Laurel Highlands High School: Move-Up Day 2024

A New Chapter Begins

The transition from middle school to high school is a significant milestone, and at Laurel Highlands High School, we believe in making this journey as smooth and exciting as possible. On Move-Up Day 2024, we welcomed our incoming freshmen with open arms, offering them a glimpse into the vibrant community they are about to join.

Orientation with Principals and Guidance Counselors

The day began with a warm orientation session led by our dedicated principals and guidance counselors. They shared valuable insights into what to expect in the coming years, the resources available for academic and personal support, and the plethora of opportunities waiting for our new students. This session was designed to address any concerns and answer questions, ensuring our freshmen feel prepared and confident as they step into high school.

Guided Tours by Current Students

To help our new students navigate the campus, various high school students volunteered to lead guided tours. These tours were more than just a walk around the school; they were an opportunity for freshmen to connect with upperclassmen, hear firsthand experiences, and get a sense of the school culture. Our student guides shared tips on managing coursework, getting involved in extracurricular activities, and making the most out of their high school experience.

Building a Strong Community

Move-Up Day is not just about familiarizing students with the school layout; it’s about fostering a sense of community. By meeting faculty members, counselors, and fellow students, our incoming freshmen started building relationships that will support them throughout their high school journey. The positive energy and enthusiasm shared by everyone on Move-Up Day set the tone for a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Looking Ahead

As we look forward to the 2024-2025 school year, we are excited about the contributions and achievements our new students will bring to Laurel Highlands High School. Move-Up Day was just the beginning, and we are committed to providing all the support and resources needed to help our freshmen thrive.

Welcome, Class of 2028! We are thrilled to have you as part of the Laurel Highlands family. Here's to a successful and memorable high school experience!
